The rehabilitation and improvement of the National route N8 from Bloemfontein to ThabaNchu was split in 2 contracts which both were awarded to Raubex Construction.

Completed work included:
The construction of new rights of way, rehabilitation of the existing road, application of a 19mm cape seal, construction of a new bridge and new horizontal alignment and the construction of a new railway line (1.12 km)
